Abstract

Prostacyclin (PGI2) inhibits platelet aggregation and vasoconstriction. Prostacyclin synthase (PGIS), a catalyst of PGI2 synthesis from prostaglandin H2, is widely distributed and predominantly found in vascular endothelial and smooth muscle cells.
