Astrosat is the first Indian satellite mission dedicated for astronomical studies. It is planned for launch during 2014 and will have five instruments for multi-wavelength observations from optical to hard X-rays. Cadmium Zing Telluride Imager (CZTI) is one of the five instruments aiming for simultaneous X-ray spectroscopy and imaging in the energy range of 10 keV to 100 keV (along with all sky photometric capability unto 250 keV). It is based on pixilated CZT detector array with total… Expand
Hard X-ray polarimetry with Astrosat-CZTI
X-ray polarimetry is largely an unexplored area of an otherwise mature field of X-ray astronomy. Except for a few early attempts during the 1970s, no dedicated X-ray polarimeter has been flown duringExpand
Prompt emission polarimetry of Gamma Ray Bursts with ASTROSAT CZT-Imager
X-ray and Gamma-ray polarization measurements of the prompt emission of Gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) are believed to be extremely important for testing various models of GRBs. So far, the availableExpand
Polarimetric analysis of a CdZnTe spectro-imager under multi-pixel irradiation conditions
Abstract So far, polarimetry in high-energy astrophysics has been insufficiently explored due to the complexity of the required detection, electronic and signal processing systems. However, itsExpand
Detection and Characterisation of Cosmic Rays in AstroSat-CZT Imager data.
The Cadmium Zinc Telluride (CZT) Imager on-board AstroSat, consists of pixelated CZT detectors, which are triggered by individual photons bombarding them, and records each such trigger separately asExpand
Development of a hard x-ray focal plane compton polarimeter: a compact polarimetric configuration with scintillators and Si photomultipliers

Cadmium-Zinc-Telluride Imager (CZTI) is one of the five payloads on-board recently launched Indian astronomy satellite AstroSat. CZTI is primarily designed for simultaneous hard X-ray imaging andExpand
AstroSat CZT Imager Observations of GRB 151006A: Timing, Spectroscopy, and Polarization Study
AstroSat is a multi-wavelength satellite launched on 2015 September 28. The CZT Imager of AstroSat on its very first day of operation detected a long duration gamma-ray burst (GRB) namely GRBExpand
Time varying polarized gamma-rays from GRB 160821A: evidence for ordered magnetic fields.
GRB 160821A is the third most energetic gamma ray burst observed by the {\it Fermi} gamma-ray space telescope. Based on the observations made by Cadmium Zinc Telluride Imager (CZTI) on board {\itExpand
ASTROSAT - Overview and Technical Architecture of India's First Space Observatory
ASTROSAT, India’s first dedicated astronomy satellite was successfully launched to a near equatorial orbit of 650 KM around the Earth on September 28, 2015 by a PSLV rocket. ASTROSAT satelliteExpand
