Ab stract:- This paper presents novel solutions for three problems encountered in the closed loop distribution systems. The first problem is how to identify a faulty section after being successfully isolated by the protection system. The second problem is how to identify a section affected with undetected open-circuit fault. A novel circuit is suggested in this paper to solve these two problems. The third problem addressed in the paper is how to deal with undetected faults in the 11 KV part of… Expand

Numerical inverse definite minimum time overcurrent relay for microgrid power system protection
TLDR
Field-processable gate array (FPGA) Xilinx Zynq-based numerical overcurrent relay protection is provided to the microgrid that is operated in islanded mode, which improves the reliability of the micro grids because the fault is rapidly diagnosed and isolated from the healthy part. Expand

Evaluation of DSP based Numerical Relay for Overcurrent Protection
TLDR
In this paper, an overcurrent relay is built and investigated using DSP, TMS320F2812, and the overcurrent protection is chosen since it is used as a major protection in the distribution systems. Expand
Generating Various Inverse Time over Current Numerical Relays Using Microcontroller for Power System Protection

DSP based fuzzy and conventional overcurrent relay controller comparisons
TLDR
Fuzzy logic control uses linguistic approach to solve complicated rules and ambiguous systems and can be used to improve the overall performance of an overcurrent relay for power system protection compared to conventional relay. Expand
ON THE COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF THE FAST BLUESTEIN AND FAST COOLEY-TUKEY NUMERICAL ALGORITHMS FOR DIGITAL AND ANALOG SIGNALS PROCESSING
TLDR
It is concluded that the fast Cooley-Tukey algorithm (FC-TNADSP algodsp-2) is faster than the fast Bluestein algorithm (FBNADSP) and is therefore the fastest DSP algorithm. Expand
