A secretory granular fraction isolated from rat parotid glands was remarkably different from a microsomal fraction in its phospholipid composition. It had higher levels of lysophospholipids (8%) and phosphatidylethanolamine (31%), while there were lower levels of phosphatidylcholine (40%) and phosphatidylserine (2.1%) than the microsomal fraction.
