Protein kinase D (PKD) isoforms are protein kinase C effectors in signaling cascades controlled by diacylglycerol (DAG). All PKDs are regulated by DAG/phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate-binding C1 domains and an activation loop (A-loop).
