Wrong Monte-Carlo computations are used to study the propagation of light in low pressure gas of nebulae. We recall that the incoherent interactions required for Monte Carlo calculations and hindering coherent interactions are due to collisions that disappear at low pressure. Incoherent interactions blur the images while coherent do not. We introduce coherent optical effects or substitute them for Monte Carlo calculations in published papers, improving the results and avoiding the introduction…

Propagation of light in low-pressure ionized and atomic hydrogen: application to astrophysics
Impulsive stimulated Raman scattering (ISRS) uses ultrashort laser pulses to shift light frequencies; the frequency shift depends on the power of the laser pulses because this power is very large.
The Parametric Light‐Matter Interactions in Astrophysics
After the computation of the frequency shifts observed in the Solar System produced by the Doppler and gravitational effects, there remain “anomalous” extra shifts, such as the redshift at the limb
Monte Carlo Simulation of Lyα Scattering and Application to Damped Lyα Systems
A Monte Carlo code to solve the transfer of Lyα photons is developed that can predict the Lyα image and two-dimensional Lyα spectra of a hydrogen cloud with any given geometry, Lyα emissivity,
THE DILUTION OF RADIATION IN A NEBULA
Dr. J. A. Carroll has recently published some very important formulae dealing with physical conditions in nebulae. In the course of his study he reaches the conclusion that radiation from the star
Laser Physics: Quantum Controversy in Action
Laser physics is a subject whose roots go back to the very source of quantum thought, namely, blackbody radiation and the Planck distribution. But the road to the first maser device showing radiation
The nature of z similar to 2.3 Lyman-alpha emitters
We study the multi-wavelength properties of a set of 171 Ly alpha emitting candidates at redshift z = 2.25 found in the COSMOS field, with the aim of understanding the underlying stellar populations
The Three-dimensional Circumstellar Environment of SN 1987A
Surrounding SN 1987A is a three-ring nebula attributed to interacting stellar winds, yet no model has successfully reproduced this system. Fortunately, the progenitor's mass-loss history can be
The Three-dimensional Circumstellar Environment of Sn 1987a
Surrounding SN 1987A is a three-ring nebula attributed to in teracting stellar winds, yet no model has successfully reproduced this system. Fortunately, the progenitor ’s mass-loss history can be
