Pro l i fe ra t ion and different ia t ion of lymphocytes were studied by means of thymidine-H 3 in organ cul tures of the thymus of newborn mice. La rge and smal l lymphocytes composing the p ro l i f e ra t ive pool p ro l i f e ra t ed intensively in vitro. The minimal t ime of different ia t ion of a DNA-synthesizing lymphocyte into a smal l lymphocyte not synthesizing DNA was about 7 h.
