Uterine stromal cells produce and release PGE2, both processes being regulated by hormonal factors. In this study, we examined the effect of PRL on the PGE2 production and release measured by radioimmunoassay. For this purpose, we used a rat uterine stromal cell line, UIII cells, which produce PGE2 and contain PRL receptors.
