Projections of neurones in the rostral hypothalamus to the periaqueductal grey matter (PAG) of the rat were investigated using retrograde tracing of red and green fluorescent latex microspheres. Microspheres were injected into one of 4 PAG sub-divisions, namely the dorsal, dorsolateral, ventral and ventrolateral parts.
