Non-rigid MR/US registration for tracking brain deformations

This work presents a new image-based technique to register intra-operative 3D US with pre-operative magnetic resonance (MR) data, and shows that a registration accuracy of the MR voxel size is achieved for the rigid part, and a qualitative accuracy could be obtained for the complete tracking system.

Automatic three-dimensional model for protontherapy of the eye: preliminary results.

A technique for an automatic 3D reconstruction of the eye and CT scan merging with fundus photographs (retinography) resulting in a "virtual eye" to guide ocular tumor protontherapy and can be adapted to treatment planning to automatically detect eye and organs at risk position.

Fusion of Autoradiographies with an MR Volume Using 2-D and 3-D Linear Transformations

The aim of the presented work is to fuse the autoradiographic data with the pre-mortem anatomical MR image, to facilitate the above-mentioned comparison and it is shown that this fusion can be achieved by using only simple global transformations (rigid and affine), yielding a very satisfactory result.

Augmented Reality guided radio-frequency tumor ablation

An AR system that could superimpose 3D reconstructions of the liver and its tumors onto a video image associated with a real-time tracking system of the needle is built, and the overall margin of error has to be less than 5 mm to provide a meaningful and safe result.

Respiratory Movement Correction in Emission Tomography

A procedure of correction inside the probability matrix in the classical MLEM algorithm has been implemented which takes into account the spatio-temporal relationship of each voxel in the structure under study, and results from synthetic and realistic simulations are presented showing the potential benefits of using this approach.

3D-2D projective registration of free-form curves and surfaces

3D-2D projective transformation (composition of a rigid displacement and a perspective projection) which maps a 3D object onto a 2D image of this object and deals with the occlusions and the outliers is found.

Tracking Brain Deformations in Time-Sequences of 3D US Images

A feasibility study of a tracking tool based on intra-operative 3D ultrasound (US) images is presented, of great interest for the development of innovative and low-cost image guided surgery tools.
