Progress with Image - Based Fiber Quality Measurements

Abstract

Principles and calibration performance results for image-based length, color and trash prove that these modern methods, when conventionally calibrated, provide essentially identical readings for conventional, commercially-used data products including: UHM, LUI, SFC; Rd, +b; Count, %Area. Comments are offered about non-conventional calibrations, new data products and new applications, as well as orderly transitions to them.
