The geodetic work of this country consists largely of the work of the United States Coast and Geodetic Survey and comprises the determination of gravity, astronomical latitudes, longitudes and azimuths, observations for the variation of latitude, base-measurements, triangulation, and leveling. As a whole the accomplishments for both field and office work for the past twelve months exceed those of any similar period.
