BACKGROUND Tumor cell biological factors, such as urokinase plasminogen activator (uPA) and its inhibitor plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1), cathepsin D, and c-myc play a role in tumor invasion, metastasis, and proliferation.
