One hundred fifty-two patients with squamous cell carcinoma of the larynx were studied. The disease-free survival and overall survival rates were correlated to 12 variables. Seven of them seemed to affect survival. Poor prognosis was related to (1) advanced stage of disease at diagnosis, (2) cord fixation and massive local invasion, (3) ulceration of the primary tumor, (4) lymph node metastases at diagnosis, (5) glottic lesions had a poorer prognosis than supraglottic ones, (6) locoregional… CONTINUE READING
