The aims of the study were to standardise an immunohistochemical (IHC) method for the detection of progesterone receptors (PR) on formalin-fixed, paraffin wax-embedded tissue sections of feline mammary gland tumours and dysplasias, comparing the results with those obtained using the radiolabelled ligand dextran coated charcoal (DCC) assay applied to frozen tissue samples from the same cases.
