Uterine leiomyomas are very common benign tumors resulting in clinically serious gynecological problems in women of reproductive age. Approximately, 1% of leiomyosarcoma was reported to arise in a preexisting leiomyoma. However, the molecular basis of these tumors is poorly understood.
