Following the biorefinery philosophy, the non-isothermal autohydrolysis of rye straw (an agroindustrial byproduct) was carried out to obtain liquors containing substituted xylooligosaccharides and solids enriched in cellulose (suitable as substrates for further enzymatic hydrolysis).
