Knowledge on precipitation phenomena in the PK 324 duplex stainless steel (DSS) is an important step in improving its final microstructure in the production process. Due to increased content of Cr, Ni and C the DSS exhibits complex microstructure, consisting of ferrite, austenite, intermetallic phases (sigma) and carbides.
