Abstract The central role of soft nucleon matrix elements in reactions of high energy electrons or real photons with nucleons is emphasized. These soft matrix elements are described in terms of skewed parton distributions. Their connections to ordinary parton distributions, form factors, Compton scattering and hard meson electroproduction is discussed.

Scaling violations of diffractive structure functions: operator approach
Abstract A quantum field theoretic treatment of inclusive deep-inelastic diffractive scattering is given. The process can be described in the general framework of non-forward scattering processesExpand

Compton scattering and the nucleon valence wavefunction
Abstract Calculations are presented for real Compton scattering on the nucleon in a PQCD formalism by starting from different quark distribution amplitudes of the nucleon. In a second step we presentExpand
Exclusive photon-proton reactions at moderately large momentum transfer
The diquark model in which protons are viewed as being built up by quarks and diquarks (the latter are treated as quasi-elementary constituents at moderately large momentum transfer) is applied toExpand
Nucleon Wave Function and Nucleon Form-Factors in QCD
Abstract The values of the few first moments of the nucleon wave function are found by using the method of QCD sum rules. A model for the nucleon wave function is proposed based on a knowledge ofExpand
Virtual Compton scattering off protons at moderately large momentum transfer
Abstract The amplitudes for virtual Compton scattering off protons are calculated within the framework of the diquark model in which protons are viewed as being built up by quarks and diquarks. TheExpand
Hard exclusive meson production and nonforward parton distributions
We present an analysis of twist-2, leading order QCD amplitudes for hard exclusive leptoproduction of mesons in terms of double/nonforward parton distribution functions. After reviewing some generalExpand
Power falloff of pion form-factor
The elastic pion form factor is calculated for all Q2 with an approximate solution to a light-cone Bethe-Salpeter equation with confinement and gluon exchange. The soft part is found to dominate theExpand
Hadronic form factors: Perturbative QCD vs. QCD SUM rules
The challenging problem of applicability of the perturbative QCD to exclusive processes is revealed. The basic ingredients both of the asymptotic large Q2 analysis and of the QCD sum rule approach areExpand
The πγ transition form factor and the pion wave function
Abstract The pion wave function is discussed in the light of the recent CLEO data on the πγ transition form factor. It turns out that the wave function is close to the asymptotic form whereas waveExpand
Hard Elastic Scattering in QCD: Leading Behavior
We derive the asymptotic behavior of elastic meson-meson and baryon-baryon scattering at high energy and fixed angle. Our results organize both Sudakov and nonleading logarithmic corrections toExpand
Soft contribution to the pion form factor from light-cone QCD sum rules
We propose a simple method to calculate the pion form factor at not very large momentum transfers, which combines the technique of the QCD sum rules with the description of the pion in terms of theExpand
