The purpose of this study is to assess the likelihood of detecting stage T1a and T1b cancer in transurethral prostatectomy specimens during the PSA era. Comparison was made of transurethral resection of prostate (TURP) cohorts in the pre-PSA era (1986–1987) and the PSA era (1994–2000), excluding patients with known PCa.
