A probabilistic description of the seismic resistance of six containment vessels was developed. A random vibration approach and an advanced first order second moment reliability method were combined to predict the cumulative distribution of the resistance. Strain ductility was used as the failure criteria. BOSOR4 was used to determine linear vibration modes.
