The complete covalent structure of dihydrofolate reductase from chicken liver is described. The S-carboxymethylated protein was subjected to cleavage by cyanogen bromide which produced five fragments. Fragment CB2 contained an internal homoserine residue which was not cleaved by cyanogen bromide.
