Daily rates of gross primary production, net community production and community respiration were determined in spring of 1997 at two stations in a warm streamer off Sanriku, Japan from in vitro changes in dissolved oxygen. The phytoplankton community was composed of chlorophytes, cryptophytes and prymnesiophytes as determined by biomarker pigment analysis.
