The present study was aimed to evaluate the protective effect of phloretin on glycoprotein components in serum and tissues of streptozotocin induced diabetic rats. Diabetes was induced in male Wistar rats by a single intraperitoneal injection of STZ (60 mg/kg b.w). Phloretin (25mg and 50mg/kg b.w) was administered orally to diabetic rats for 45 days. The effect of phloretin on serum glucose, glycated hemoglobin, serum and tissue glycoprotein components were studied. Phloretin administration to… Expand

Phloretin either alone or in combination with duloxetine alleviates the STZ-induced diabetic neuropathy in rats.
TLDR
Investigation of in vivo possible antineuropathic activity of phloretin showed that both DX and PH dose-dependently improved behavioral parameters, sciatic nerve tissue antioxidant state, and suppressed tissue inflammatory cytokine, besides, they abrogated the tissue histopathological changes (with the superiority of PH). Preventive effect of diosmin, a bioflavonoid, on glycoprotein changes in streptozotocin-nicotinamide-induced type 2 diabetic rats.
The present study was designed to investigate the effect of diosmin on the levels of glycoprotein components in plasma and tissues of streptozotocin (STZ)-nicotinamide (NA) induced diabetic rats.Expand
Antihyperglycemic effect of carvone: Effect on the levels of glycoprotein components in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats
TLDR
The present findings suggest that carvone can potentially ameliorate glycoprotein components abnormalities in addition to its antihyperglycemic effect in experimental diabetes. Expand
Antihyperglycemic effect of trans-anethole in streptozotocin induced diabetic rats with special reference to glycoprotein components

Antidiabetic and antihyperlipidemic effect of p -hydroxycinnamic acid on streptozotocin-induced diabetic Wistar rats
Abstract The objective of this study was to examine the hypothesis that intake of p -hydroxycinnamic acid ( p -HCA) regulates blood glucose levels and hypolipidemic responses in rats with diabetesExpand
Protective role of tetrahydrocurcumin and chlorogenic acid on glycoprotein changes in streptozotocin-nicotinamide-induced diabetic rats
The present study was to evaluate the individual and synergistic effect of two-plant derived phenolic compounds, namely tetrahydrocurcumin (THC) and chlorogenic acid (CGA) on glycoprotein levels inExpand
Antidiabetic effect of S-allylcysteine: Effect on plasma and tissue glycoproteins in experimental diabetes.
TLDR
It is indicated that S-allylcysteine possesses a significantly beneficial effect on the glycoprotein moiety in addition to its antidiabetic effect. Expand
Syringic acid, a novel natural phenolic acid, normalizes hyperglycemia with special reference to glycoprotein components in experimental diabetic rats
TLDR
The present findings suggest that syringic acid can potentially ameliorate glycoprotein components abnormalities in addition to its antidiabetic effect in experimental diabetes, and further clinical studies are required to evaluate the use of syringi acid as an effective therapeutic agent for the treatment of diabetes mellitus. Influence of Casearia esculenta root extract on glycoprotein components in streptozotocin diabetic rats.
TLDR
Oral administration of C. esculenta root extract for 45 days significantly reverted the hexose, hexosamine, sialic acid and fucose levels to near normal values, suggesting a normalizing effect of the indigenous antidiabetic medicinal plant. Expand
Changes in Glycoprotein Components in Streptozotocin - Nicotinamide Induced Type 2 Diabetes: Influence of Tetrahydrocurcumin from Curcuma longa
TLDR
It is indicated that the THC possesses a significant beneficial effect on glycoprotein moiety in addition to its antidiabetic effect, and the effect of THC is more prominent than curcumin. Expand
