BACKGROUND & AIMS The cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) provides an important apical route for Cl(-) secretion across intestinal epithelia. A thiazolidinone-type CFTR blocker (CFTR(inh)-172) reduced cholera toxin-induced fluid accumulation in mouse intestinal loops.
