OBJECTIVE Deep venous thrombosis (DVT) is a major cause of morbidity and mortality after surgery for primary and metastatic brain tumors. METHODS We conducted a confidential survey of American neurosurgeons interested in tumor surgery to assess DVT risk awareness and thromboprophylaxis patterns.
