Context Can changes in diet prevent diabetes in older adults? Contribution This subgroup analysis of a multicenter trial involved older adults with high risk for heart disease who were randomly assigned to a Mediterranean diet supplemented with either extra-virgin olive oil or mixed nuts or to a low-fat control diet.
