Modulation of carbon tetrachloride-induced nephrotoxicity in rats by n-hexane extract of Sonchus asper
Coadministration revealed that S. asper extract can protect the kidney against CCl4-mediated oxidative damage by restoring the activity of antioxidant enzyme, due to the presence of plant bioactive constituents.

Prevention of KBrO 3 -induced cardiotoxicity by Sonchus asper in rat
The results revealed that KBrO3 induced oxidative stress as evidenced by the significant decrease in the activity levels of antioxidant enzymes and glutathione while increase in the levels of γ-GT, MDA and H2O2 in cardiac samples compared with the control group.
Protective effect of Launaea procumbens against KBrO3 induced nephrotoxicity in rats
Protective effects of L. procumbens methanol extract protect the liver against KBrO3 mediated oxidative damage by restoring activity of antioxidant enzyme and lipid peroxidation which might be due to the presence of plant bioactive constituents.
Carbon tetrachloride-induced kidney damage and protective effect of Amaranthus lividus L. in rats
It is indicated that A. lividus possesses protective and antioxidant effects against CCl4-induced oxidative kidney damage and was further evident through the decreased histological alterations in kidneys.
Protective effects of Carissa opaca fruits against CCl4-induced oxidative kidney lipid peroxidation and trauma in rat
Results revealed that the methanolic fractions of C. opaca are the most potent and helpful in kidney trauma.
Amelioration of kidney function markers by Sonchus asper butanolic extract against KBrO3-induced toxicity in rat
The protective effects of Sonchus asper butanol extract against KBrO3- induced oxidative damage in kidney of rat were determined in this study. 24 Sprague-Dawley male rats (180 to 200 g) were divided
Nephroprotective Effect of Hydroalcoholic Extract Allium jesdianum Boiss against Carbon Tetrachloride Induced Nephrotoxicity via Stress Oxidative in Mice
Administration of the hydroalcoholic extract of Allium jesdianum Boiss could prevent nephrotoxicity induced by CCl4, and the protective potential may involve the powerful antioxidant of this plant by eliminating free radicals induced byCCl4.
The Protective Effect of Date Seeds on Nephrotoxicity Induced by Carbon Tetrachloride in Rats
The treatment with date seeds has preserved the kidney histology, kidney function close to control values and significantly restored the activities of SOD and GST and decreased kidney MDA, GSH and NO levels.
Attenuation of CCl 4 -induced hepatic antioxidants disorder and oxidative stress by Hibiscus rosa sinensis extract in albino rats
It is suggested that H. rosa sinensis extract effectively ameliorated the changes observed with CCl4 injuries in liver, possibly through antioxidant and/or free radical scavenging effects of its phenolic compounds, specially flavonoids, triterpenes and tannins, which previously were demonstrated as a phytochemical components in this extract.

Ferulic acid, a natural protector against carbon tetrachloride‐induced toxicity
The results show that FA is an effective antioxidant without any side‐effects and may be a great gain in the current search for natural therapy.

It is suggested that tea polyphenols and tea pigments are effective in preventing the precancerous liver lesions in rats, and modulation of cell cycle by regulating cell cycle regulators may be a possible mechanism.
