OBJECTIVES (i) To estimate the prevalence burden of placenta praevia in each world region, and (ii) to investigate potential sources of heterogeneity. METHODS Systematic review of the literature and random-effects meta-analysis. Potential sources of heterogeneity were investigated using meta-regression.
