PURPOSE To assess the prevalence and types of glaucoma in a rural population in northern China. DESIGN Population-based cross-sectional study. PARTICIPANTS Subjects randomly selected from the population 40 years of age and older in Kailu County, Tongliao, Inner Mongolia.
