EnglishThe induction of galls by the cecidomyiid fly Asphondylia trabutii (Asphondyliini, Cecidomyiidae) is cited for the first time in the fruits of Solanum nigrum (Solanaceae). We examine the natural history of this interaction and we also cite, for the first time in the Balearic Islands, the presence of Cyrtoptix sp. TLDR
Two species stand out: Asphondylia salsolae, a Euro-African species and the newest addition to the known gall midge fauna of the Iberian Peninsula, Spain and Europe, and Dasineura gleditchiae, the only alien species, of a Nearctic origin.
