Abstract

Andrew Rogers discusses the high anxiety levels and high failure rates among those sitting the DC test for entry into nurse education. He goes on to describe a preparatory course developed at one school of nursing which aims to provide an early opportunity for candidates to discuss issues relating to nurse training. A mock test allows individuals to receive guidance on their exam performance and to lessen the degree of anxiety which the test itself can generate. Success rates rose among those who followed the preparatory course.
