A simple method for the preparation of phosphorylcholine derivatives of bovine serum albumin (PC-BSA) by reductive alkylation of the amino groups of bovine serum albumin with choline phosphoryl glycoaldehyde is described. Choline phosphoryl glycoaldehyde was generated by periodate oxidation of glyceryl phosphorylcholine.
