BACKGROUND Soft tissue sarcomas (STS) are rare. More often than not, the possibility of STS is not considered preoperatively and the lesions are enucleated. Enucleation (excisional biopsy) is inappropriate for sarcomas as it compromises the planning of definitive surgery and radiotherapy.
