Ground and aerial surveys for Orange-breasted Falcons Falco deiroleucus) were conducted during March-June 1999 in Honduras, and March-May 2000 in El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama, all within the likely range of this species. Sixty-six cliffs were checked by ground surveys. No Orange-breasted Falcon was found in Central America. We examined 55 cliffs by fixed-wing aircraft during 24 hr of flying.
