In this study, the endometriosis rats model was randomly divided into 6 groups: model control group, ovariectomized group, Gestrinone group, and quercetin high/medium/low dose group. Rats were killed after 3 weeks of administration. The expression levels of serum FSH and LH were detected by ELISA. The localizations and quantities of ERα, ERβ, and PR were detected by immunohistochemistry and western blot. The results showed that the mechanism of quercetin inhibiting the growth of ectopic…
Effect of quercetin on estrogen receptor α and β expression in uterine tissues in ovariectomized rats
TLDR
Quercetin can improve menopausal syndrome in the OVX rats through regulating estrogen release and receptor expression through regulating estradiol and mRNA expression.
The phytoestrogen, quercetin, in serum, uterus and ovary as a potential treatment for dehydroepiandrosterone-induced polycystic ovary syndrome in the rat.
TLDR
Results of this study showed that expression of nesfatin-1 and adipoR1 genes and adiponectin serum levels decreased in the PCOS rats, but aromatase expression and oestradiol level increased.
STUDY THE EFFECT OF QUERCETIN ON FSH AND ESTROGEN GENE EXPRESSION IN FEMALE WISTER RATS EXPOSED TO OXIDATIVE STRESS BY LEAD ACETATE
TLDR
The effects of Quercetin to improve efficiency of the female reproductive system of wester rats which exposed to oxidative stress by lead acetate and gene expression of estrogen showed a significant increase and FSH beta subunit gene showed significant increase.
Protective effect of Tualang honey against cadmium-induced morphological abnormalities and oxidative stress in the ovary of rats
TLDR
Tualang honey has protective effects against Cd-induced ovarian toxicity by reducing morphological abnormalities, restoring the normal levels of gonadotropin hormones and stabilizing equilibrium levels of lipid peroxidation and antioxidant enzyme in ovaries of rats.
Overview of biological effects of Quercetin on ovary
TLDR
It seems that QUR as a supplementary factor has different activities for the treatment of different disorders and it also has bidirectional activities, however, further investigations are needed for understanding the efficacy of QUR in the treatment and improvement of gynecological patients.
Dietary supplements for treatment of endometriosis: A review
TLDR
Based on results of in vitro, animal and human studies, it might be safe to say that dietary supplements can be used as a complementary treatment for endometriosis.
Identifying Mechanisms of Endometriosis-Associated Reduced Fecundity in a Rat Model: Novel Insights toward Understanding Human Infertility.
TLDR
Animal models are a viable adjunct to study mechanisms causing human reproductive anomalies and infertility in endometriosis and well-established animal models which help decipher the problems and lead to heretofore unknown nonsurgical, nonhormonal methods to manage endometiosis in women.
Animal Models for Endometriosis: Evolution, Utility and Clinical Relevance
TLDR
An animal models for endometriosis arose as an important adjunct to gain mechanistic insights into the etiology and pathophysiological mechanisms of this perplexing disorder.
Plants as source of new therapies for endometriosis: a review of preclinical and clinical studies.
TLDR
This review provides a comprehensive overview of plant-derived agents and natural treatment strategies that are under preclinical or clinical investigation and critically evaluates their potential for future endometriosis therapy.
An Overview on the Conservative Management of Endometriosis from a Naturopathic Perspective: Phytochemicals and Medicinal Plants
TLDR
Medicinal herbs and their bioactive compounds exhibit antiangiogenic, antioxidant, sedative and pain-alleviating properties and the effects recorded until now encourage their use for the conservative management of endometriosis.

Role of estrogen receptor-β in endometriosis.
TLDR
A severely high ERβ-to-ERα ratio in endometriotic stromal cells is associated with suppressed progester one receptor and increased cyclo-oxygenase-2 levels contributing to progesterone resistance and inflammation.
Novel agents for the medical treatment of endometriosis
TLDR
New drugs for the medical treatment of endometriosis targeting both hormonal (GnRH, estrogen and progesterone receptors) and nonhormonal pathways (inflammation, angiogenesis, adhesions, tissue invasion) are promising, but their efficacy and safety need to be established in randomized human trials before they can be used in clinical practice.
The effect of a luteinizing hormone releasing hormone (LRH) agonist (Wy-40,972), levonorgestrel, danazol and ovariectomy on experimental endometriosis in the rat.
TLDR
The observed activity of steroidal and non-steroidal compounds in this study demonstrates the usefulness of a rat model in the study of endometriosis and suggests that inhibiting or eliminating ovarian steroid production alone will not produce a permanent regression of the endometrial explant.
A selective estrogen receptor-beta agonist causes lesion regression in an experimentally induced model of endometriosis.
TLDR
Evaluating ERB-041's activity in an experimentally induced model of endometriosis found the compound appeared to be equally effective in gonad-intact as in ovariectomized mice, and recovered lesions expressed ERalpha but not ERbeta mRNA.
Effects of quercetin on the proliferation of breast cancer cells and expression of survivin in vitro
TLDR
Quercetin inhibited the growth of MCF-7 cells and promoted apoptosis by inducing G0/ G1 phase arrest and regulated the expression of survivin mRNA in MCF -7 cells, which may be the mechanism underlying its antitumor effect.
Pathogenesis of endometriosis: natural immunity dysfunction or autoimmune disease?
Update on the treatment of endometriosis
TLDR
The outcomes of surgery in patients with endometriosis will be reviewed, and the efficacy of newer drugs including aromatase inhibitor, anti-tumor necrosis factor-alpha, and dienogest will be also reviewed based on recent clinical studies.
Phytoestrogen-mediated inhibition of proliferation of the human T47D breast cancer cells depends on the ERα/ERβ ratio
Soy isoflavones decrease the catechol-O-methyltransferase-mediated inactivation of 4-hydroxyestradiol in cultured MCF-7 cells.
TLDR
It is demonstrated for the first time that soy isoflavones at hormonally active concentrations cause a significant reduction of both COMT mRNA levels and COMT activity as well as of the methylation of 4-HO-E2, which implies that diet might influence COMTActivity to a greater extent than heretofore recognized.
Oestradiol-17beta inhibits tamoxifen-induced LHRH self-priming blocking hormone-dependent and ligand-independent activation of the gonadotrope progesterone receptor in the rat.
TLDR
Results indicated that membrane ER-mediated E2 inhibition of the TX-stimulated LHRH self-priming pathway involves a blockade of gonadotrope PR phosphorylation/activation, but not a deficient response of PR to phosphorylases.
