Methanolic extracts of whole fruits or juice of six popular fruits of Bangladesh were evaluated for immunostimulating activity based on immunoglobulin M production and proliferation of murine splenic cells in culture medium. The production of IgM in cultured supernatants was determined by an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) and the proliferation of spleen cells was measured by 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-y)-2,5-diphenylterazolium bromide (MTT) .
