OBJECTIVES Mutations in the APC, NF2 and BRCA1 genes cause adult-onset cancer predisposition syndromes. Prenatal diagnosis (PND) and selective pregnancy termination for adult-onset disorders is emotionally difficult and, in some cases, socially not well accepted.
