Preferred skin color reproduction is an important factor for improving the image quality of display devices and systems. Therefore, this article presents a race-selective preferred skin color reproduction method for the case of multiple races in a single image. First, the proposed method detects skin regions using a focus map and skin candidate map. Next, the race of each detected skin region is classified by comparing the Euclidean distance of the average chromaticity for each detected skin…

Automatic color preference correction for color reproduction
An automatic color correction method is developed to maintain preferred color reproduction for three significant categories: facial skin color, green grass and blue sky, which shows the usefulness of this method for the reproduction of preferred colors.

It is explained how the face-segmentation results can be used to improve the perceptual quality of a videophone sequence encoded by the H.261-compliant coder.
Skin Color Detection through Estimation and Conversion of Illuminant Color Under Various Illuminations
Experimental results show that the proposed skin color detection method increases the detection rate, especially for images taken with a low or high correlated color temperature of illumination.
Preferred skin color reproduction based on adaptive affine transform
This work models a preferred skin color area with an ellipse according to the average luminance of skin and proposes an effective method for skin color reproduction by introducing the affine
Color reproduction and the naturalness constraint
This article aims to determine the process underlying the subjective impression about the fidelity of reproduced object colors. To this end, we present the concept of the naturalness constraint and a
Color reproduction for digital imaging systems
This paper presents a new color reproduction approach that combines auto white balance (AWB) and color correction to recover the spectral reflectance properties of the objects in the scene and the
