Nuclear matrix prepared from mouse leukemia L5178Y cells contained not only the two common actin isomers, beta and gamma actins, but also two additional acidic species of actin (pI 5.1 and 5.3). An anti-actin antibody recognized these acidic species as well as beta and gamma actins on a nitrocellulose filter following western blotting of two-dimensional electrophoresis.
