A bstractWe consider the Higgs portal Z2 scalar model as the minimal extension of the Standard Model (SM) to incorporate the dark matter. We analyze this model by using the two-loop renormalization group equations. We find that the dark matter mass is bounded to be lighter than 1000 GeV within the framework that we have proposed earlier, where the Higgs inflation occurs above the SM cutoff Λ, thanks to the fact that the Higgs potential becomes much smaller than its typical value in the SM: V…

Higgs Potential and Naturalness After the Higgs Discovery

In July 2012, ATLAS and CMS collaborations reported the discovery of the Higgs boson. In the standard model(SM), the Higgs self coupling λ can be seen from observed mass, 125GeV, and λ is found to be

Extending Higgs inflation with TeV scale new physics

Higgs inflation is among the most economical and predictive inflation models, although the original Higgs inflation requires tuning the Higgs or top mass away from its current experimental value by

Topological Higgs inflation: Origin of Standard Model criticality

The measured values of the Higgs and top masses and of the strong gauge coupling constant point to the near-criticality of the Standard Model, where two vacua at the electroweak and Planck scales are

Higgs inflation with nonminimal couplings

The Higgs field is the only scalar field in the Standard Model of particle physics. Because the potential shape of the Standard Model Higgs is not suitable for the inflation, the nonminimal coupling

Quantum gravity fluctuations flatten the Planck-scale Higgs-potential

We investigate asymptotic safety of a toy model of a singlet-scalar extension of the Higgs sector including two real scalar fields under the impact of quantum-gravity fluctuations. Employing

Multiple point principle of the Standard Model with scalar singlet dark matter and right-handed neutrinos

We consider the multiple point principle (MPP) of the Standard Model (SM) with the scalar singlet Dark Matter (DM) and three heavy right-handed neutrinos at the scale where the beta function of

Higgs inflation from Standard Model criticality

In this chapter, we investigate the possibility that the SM Higgs boson plays the role of an inflation in light of the discovery of the Higgs boson. In 2007, Bezurkov and Shaposhnikov first pointed

Minimal Higgs inflation

We consider a possibility that the Higgs field in the Standard Model (SM) serves as an inflaton when its value is around the Planck scale. We assume that the SM is valid up to an ultraviolet cutoff

HIGGS INFLATION AND THE COSMOLOGICAL CONSTANT

The Higgs not only induces the masses of all SM particles, the Higgs, given its special mass value, is the natural candidate for the inflaton and in fact is ruling the evolution of the early

Higgs vacuum stability from the dark matter portal

A bstractWe consider classically scale-invariant extensions of the Standard Model (CSI ESM ) which stabilise the Higgs potential and have good dark matter candidates. In this framework all mass

Multi-scalar-singlet extension of the standard model — The case for dark matter and an invisible Higgs boson

A bstractWe consider a simple extension of the Standard Model by the addition of N real scalar gauge singlets $ \overrightarrow \varphi $ that are candidates for Dark Matter. By collecting

The Standard model as a low-energy effective theory: what is triggering the Higgs mechanism? ∗

The discovery of the Higgs by ATLAS and CMS at the LHC not only provided the last missing building block of the electroweak Standard Model, the mass of the Higgs has been found to have a very

TeV-scale B − L model with a flat Higgs potential at the Planck scale: In view of the hierarchy problem

The recent discovery of the Higgs-like particle at around 126 GeV has given us a big hint towards the origin of the Higgs potential. Especially the running quartic coupling vanishes near the Planck

Planck scale boundary conditions and the Higgs mass

A bstractIf the LHC does only find a Higgs boson in the low mass region and no other new physics, then one should reconsider scenarios where the Standard Model with three right-handed neutrinos is

Higgs dynamics during inflation

We investigate inflationary Higgs dynamics and constraints on the Standard Model parameters assuming the Higgs potential, computed to next-to-next leading order precision, is not significantly

Topological Higgs inflation: Origin of Standard Model criticality

The measured values of the Higgs and top masses and of the strong gauge coupling constant point to the near-criticality of the Standard Model, where two vacua at the electroweak and Planck scales are
