The chemical composition of rape stalk is the physiological basis for its lodging resistance. By taking the advantage of NIRS, we developed a rapid method to determine the content of six key composition without crushing the stalk. Rapeseed stalks in the mature stage of growth were collected from three cultivation modes over the course of 2 years. First, we used the near-infrared spectroscope to scan seven positions on the stalk samples and took their average to form the spectral data. The… Expand

On-line measurement of proximates and lignocellulose components of corn stover using NIRS
On-line analysis of proximates (moisture, ash, volatile matter, and fixed carbon) and lignocellulose components (cellulose, semi-cellulose, and lignin) of coarse-crushed corn stover was investigatedExpand
[Rapid determination of componential contents and calorific value of selected agricultural biomass feedstocks using spectroscopic technology].
It is concluded that the Vis-NIR spectroscopy is promising as an alternative of traditional proximate analysis for rapid determination of componential contents and calorific value of agricultural biomass feedstock. Expand
Robust NIRS models for non-destructive prediction of postharvest fruit ripeness and quality in mango
Abstract The effect of harvest year on near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) prediction models to determine postharvest quality of mango was evaluated. Diffuse reflectance spectra in region of 700–1100Expand
Non-destructive determination of carbohydrate reserves in leaves of ornamental cuttings by near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) as a key indicator for quality assessments
NIRS seems to be more suitable for monitoring of leaf carbohydrates in stock plants to optimise crop management than for assessment of cutting quality before rooting, as the quite low levels of Leaf carbohydrates on delivery at rooting facilities cannot be detected by NIRS properly. Expand
Development of Near-Infrared Reflectance Spectroscopy (NIRS) Calibration Model for Estimation of Oil Content in Brassica juncea and Brassica napus
Vegetable oil is an important part of human diet since ancient days. Rapeseed-mustard is the third most important source of vegetable oil in the world. In the present study, the main aim was toExpand
Rapid determination of total protein and wet gluten in commercial wheat flour using siSVR-NIR.
A near-infrared spectroscopy (NIR) method with support vector regression was developed and the results showed that the models from raw spectra were not acceptable, but they were substantially improved by properly applying spectral preprocessing methods. Expand
Quantification of glucosinolates in leaves of leaf rape (Brassica napus ssp. pabularia) by near-infrared spectroscopy.
Results show that the equations developed for total glucosinolates, as well as those for gluconapin, glucobrassicanapin and progoitrin, can be used for screening these compounds in the leaves of this species. Expand
Quantification of fructan concentration in grasses using NIR spectroscopy and PLSR
Abstract Near-infrared reflectance (NIR) spectroscopy combined with chemometrics was used to quantify fructan concentration in samples from seven grass species. Savitzky–Golay first derivative withExpand
Arabidopsis Seed Content QTL Mapping Using High-Throughput Phenotyping: The Assets of Near Infrared Spectroscopy
The usefulness of NIRS predictive equations to perform accurate high-throughput phenotyping of Arabidopsis seed content is illustrated, opening new perspectives in gene identification following QTL mapping and genome wide association studies. Expand
Novel Prediction of Total Fat Content in Cocoa Beans by FT-NIR Spectroscopy Based on Effective Spectral Selection Multivariate Regression
Total fat content is a major quality parameter that chocolate manufactures consider when selecting cocoa beans. This paper attempted the feasibility of measuring total fat content in cocoa beans byExpand
