Emerging Trends in Personality Identification Using Online Social Networks—A Literature Survey
TLDR
This article reviews various studies reported in literature toward identification of personality using online social networks and suggests that the online social networking websites are, in fact, a relevant and valid means of communicating personality.
Personality Predictions Based on User Behavior on the Facebook Social Media Platform
TLDR
The goal of this paper is to investigate the predictability of the personality traits of Facebook users based on different features and measures of the Big 5 model, and examines the presence of structures of social networks and linguistic features relative to personality interactions using the myPersonality project data set.
Personality Prediction with Social Behavior by Analyzing Social Media Data – A Survey
TLDR
This survey aims at providing researchers with an overview of various strategies used for studies and research concentrating on predicting user personality and behavior using online social networking site content.
A user's personality prediction approach by mining network interaction behaviors on Facebook
TLDR
The dominance, inducement, submission, and compliance (DISC) theory was used to determine personality types and this research developed an approach for automatically predicting the personality types of network users based on their Facebook interactions.
Identifying and validating personality traits-based homophilies for an egocentric network
TLDR
This paper develops a method to identify homophilies by analyzing the Big5 personality traits of users from their interactions in an egocentric network like Facebook and presents a novel validation technique to verify those extracted homoph families in real life.

TLDR
It is found that conscientiousness, agreeableness and extraversion were homophilous: people with higher similarity on these facets were more strongly connected and supported the idea that inherent attraction between individuals, on the basis of personality, drives the roles the authors play within their online social networks.
My Tweets Bring All the Traits to the Yard: Predicting Personality and Relational Traits in Online Social Networks
TLDR
The presented research provides a promising avenue for future research on OSN user characterization and classification by providing a prediction model for holistic personality profiling in OSNs that includes socio-relational traits (attachment orientations) in combination with standard personality traits.
Cross-Cultural Personality Prediction based on Twitter Data
TLDR
This paper proposes a new research topic called cross-cultural personality prediction and discusses how these kinds of models can be built in practice and investigates whether there is a cultural or language difference in personality between people in two countries namely, South Korea and Turkey in Twitter.

It is argued that being able to predict user personality goes well beyond the initial goal of informing the design of new personalized applications as it, for example, expands current studies on privacy in social media.
Actions speak as loud as words: predicting relationships from social behavior data
TLDR
A new genre of behavioral features that are able to capture the "function" of a specific relationship without the help of textual features is presented, based on the statistical properties of communication patterns between individuals such as reciprocity, assortativity, attention and latency.

A personality trait-based interactionist model of job performance.
TLDR
A model is proposed that distinguishes among 5 situational features relevant to trait expression (job demands, distracters, constraints, releasers, and facilitators), operating at task, social, and organizational levels and promotes useful discussion of critical issues, including situational specificity, personality-oriented job analysis, team building, and work motivation.
