Analyzing potential power reduction with adaptive voltage positioning optimized for multicore processors

This paper analyzes potential total power reduction of a high-performance quadcore processor when the regulator output voltage can be dynamically repositioned depending on individual core's power-states that affect processor load-current significantly and extends the analysis to consider each core's temperature and within-die spatial process variations that can affect leakage substantially.
