Glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) are complex polysaccharides, which play important roles in cell growth, differentiation, morphogenesis, cell migration, and bacterial/viral infections. Major GAGs include heparin (Hep)/heparan sulfate, and chondroitin sulfate (CS)/dermatan sulfate (DS).
