Objective: Investigate impact of community based programs for creating nutrition and health awareness of women of child bearing age for prevention of anemia. Design: Intervention comprising of informal meetings, live demonstrations of iron rich recipes from green leafy vegetables and kitchen garden activity. Women with Hb<11 g/dl had to be given iron folic acid tablets and formed the supplemented group (SG) while those with Hb>11 g/dl formed non supplemented group (NSG).
