Abstract Mechanisms for the elimination of organic acids from the brain and CSF system were studied during early postnatal development, by infusing tracer doses of [ 3 H]para-aminohippuric acid into the spinal subarachnoid space of unanesthetized albino rats at 5 and 30 days of age.
