BACKGROUND Some alarming cases of hypoglycemic episodes in patients who have undergone Roux-en-Y gastric bypass have been reported. The syndrome of hyperinsulinemic hypoglycemia with nesidioblastosis after Roux-en-Y gastric bypass has been previously reported and is controversial.
