Effect of the aqueous extract of fresh coriander (Coriandrum sativum) seeds has been studied on female fertility in rats. Parameters included effects on oestrus cycle, implantation, foetal loss, abortion, teratogenicity and serum progesterone levels on days 5, 12 and 20 of the pregnancy. The extract at doses of 250 and 500 mg/kg orally produced a dose-dependent significant anti-implantation effect, but failed to produce complete infertility. Treatment of animals during day-8 to day-12 and day… Expand
The Inhibitory Effect of Aqueous Extract of Coriander (Coriandrum sativum L.) Leaves on the Activity of Male Reproductive System of Albino Mice
TLDR
Results indicate that Coraindrum sativum leaves extract at dose 125 and 250 mg/kg.b.w. has antifertility effect in male albino mice. Expand
Abortifacient Potential of Aqueous Extract of Senna alata Leaves in Rats
TLDR
Overall, the extract may be used as an abortifacient especially at 500 and 1 000 mg/kg body weight and therefore not safe for consumption as oral remedy during pregnancy. Expand
Effects of Anethum graveolens L. on fertility in male rats
TLDR
Female rats did not become pregnant after mating with rats given the high dose of the ethanol extract, and the distribution of terminal sugars on the epithelial surface of the reproductive structures decreased in the experimental groups. Expand
Effect of Coriandrum sativum, a common herbal medicine, on endocrine and reproductive organ structure and function
TLDR
The traditional herbal medicine, Coriandrum sativum, does not appear to exert negative effects on testosterone or cholesterol levels, nor on the reproductive or endocrine functions, and requires further study before it can be recommended for use as a medicinal plant. Expand
Effects Of Vitis Vinifera Leave Hydro-Alcoholic Extract On Reproductive Parameters In Adult Normal Male Rats. -
TLDR
It seems that administration of this extract affects on some of fertility parameters and decreases spermatogenesis in the rats. Expand
In Vitro Assessment of the Anthelmintic Activity of the Crude Extracts of Coriandrum sativum (Linn.): Seeds
The study aims to assess in-vitro anthelmintic potential of the aqueous and methanolic extract of Coriandrum sativum (L.) using helminth parasite (Haemonchus sp.). Various concentrations of extractsExpand
The Effect of the Coriander Seeds on Reproductive Parameter on Female Mice
The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of the coriander seeds aqueous on reproductive parameter on female mice. Adult female mice (n=30) were included in the present study, mice wereExpand
Pharmacological Evaluation of Coriander Seeds against High Fat Diet-Induced Cholelithiasis
TLDR
The data obtained from the current study justified the therapeutic importance of Coriandrum sativum against cholelithiasis, however, further studies are required to explore the underlying mechanism and to separate active compound(s) responsible for the antilithic potential of C. satvum. Expand
Effect of extract and essential oil of Coriandrum sativum seed against pentylenetetrazole-induced seizure
TLDR
Results suggest that the extracts and essential oil of coriander seeds possess anticonvulsant activity, however, it is suggested that the major active component(s) responsible for the anticonVulsant effects is mainly present in the aqueous extract. Expand
Effect of ethanolic extract of Coriandrum sativum L. on tacrine induced orofacial dyskinesia.
TLDR
The results have demonstrated the protective role of ethanolic extract of Coriandrum sativum L. L against tacrine induced orofacial dyskinesia. Expand

Antifertility effect of Citrus hystrix DC.
TLDR
An alcohol and chloroform extract of Citrus hystrix DC enhanced the uterotrophic effect of estradiol when both were simultaneously given and it is suggested that these two effects may be responsible for the interruption of pregnancy associated with the extract. Expand
Potential value of plants as sources of new antifertility agents I.
TLDR
The preovulatory, preimplantation, and postIMplantation antifertility mechanisms of plant substances affecting the hypothalamus-pituitary, ovary, oviduct, uterus, or vagina are discussed in terms of reproductive differences among laboratory animal species. Expand
The effect of bromocriptine during early pregnancy in the rat: inhibition of implantation.
TLDR
In all bromocriptine treated rats implantation of blastocysts does not occur, and the failure to implant is probably the consequence of changes of the uterine mucosa caused by the lack of progesterone production in the luteal cells. Expand
Inhibition of implantation and termination of pregnancy in the rat by a human chorionic gonadotropin antagonist.
TLDR
It is concluded that DG-hCG can successfully antagonize hormone action in vivo by blockade of ovarian receptor sites for LH in the pregnant rat. Expand
Treatment with a single vaginal suppository containing 15-methyl PGF2 alpha methyl ester at expected time of menstruation.
TLDR
The treatment resulted in bleeding in all the pregnant cycles while in the nonpregnant ones it only provoked spotting and bleeding did not begin until the expected time of menstruation, which seems preferable since the dose is the same. Expand
Corpus luteum dysfunction: serum progesterone levels in diagnosis and assessment of therapy for recurrent and threatened abortion.
TLDR
Serum P measurements provide a means for evaluation of CL function during early gestation and management of patients with CL dysfunction can also be monitored with serial serum P measurements, provided that progesterone is the therapeutic agent rather than synthetic progestins. Expand
Induction of preterm labor in the rat by antiprogesterone.
TLDR
The validity of a new concept, predicting that preterm labor can be induced without oxytocic stimulation by a regulatory imbalance generated by antiprogesterone (A-P)-provoked P withdrawal (Pw), has been examined in the rat model and the potential of this method in improving the management of medically indicated induction of pre term labor is discussed. Expand
Potential value of plants as sources of new antifertility agents II.
TLDR
Naturally occurring steroid estrogens, estrogenic isoflavins, coumestans, plants with reported estrogenic activity, and cytotoxic agents with antifertility properties are listed along with their plant sources. Expand
Effects of 17β-hydroxy-7α-methylandrost-5-en-3-one on early pregnancy in the rat
TLDR
Results suggest that in addition to its mid-pregnancy terminating effect, RMI-12,936 is capable of interrupting early pregnancy when given soon after mating in the rat, and the safety and efficacy of this compound as a post-coital contraceptive deserves further investigation. Expand
Fertility regulating agents from plants.
