Adrenomedullin is a peptide recently isolated from pheochromocytoma that has vasorelaxant and long-lasting hypotensive activities. Plasma levels of adrenomedullin are elevated in patients with congestive heart failure, but the effects of adrenomedullin on the cardiac function are unclear.
